I don’t know about everyone else, but in the midst of a time in which we’re all forced to stay locked in our homes, I’d like to take an opportunity to get familiar with things that I just haven’t had the chance to get familiar with yet. I often carry a lot of guilt with me because of the amount of albums I have failed to listen to — I don’t know why, I guess it probably has something to do with FOMO. So while we’re all experiencing FOMO from a lack of socialization, we can attempt to recover by listening to albums that we have missed out on so far! Here’s a list of not boring albums that I’d like to remind myself and everyone else to check out during a time that we are susceptible to debilitating boredom.
- Donald Glover Presents – Childish Gambino
Let’s kick this list off with the latest album from Childish Gambino that he dropped out of nowhere! Gotta keep up with current events, right?
2. Crush on Me – Sir Babygirl
An energetic album for when you’re in need of a personal dance party.
3. Plans – Death Cab for Cutie
A 2005 album that offers a certain kind of nostalgia to bring you back to simpler times before you had real life problems.
4. 1000 gecs – 100 gecs
An album for when you need something that helps you take life a little less seriously.
5. Thanks, Sorry! – Jeff Rosenstock
A live album that creates the illusion that you’re in the company of other people.
6. Awake – Tycho
An album that provides the kind of ambiance you might normally get from your favorite coffee shop.
7. Melee – Dogleg
An aggressive album for when you’re considering rioting for a rent freeze.
8. ZUU– Denzel Curry
A rap album that celebrates the culture of Miami so that you can appreciate it from afar, rather than traveling and putting yourself at higher risk.
9. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships – The 1975
An album for when you just can’t seem to forget the current societal doom.
10. Teens of Denial – Car Seat Headrest
And finally, an album that you can truly lose yourself in.
